About Dj Frankie Green

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Around 1978 Mom and Dad would play funky soul and rock vinyl records from bands like Earth Wind and Fire, Tower Of Power, JB's and CCR. In 1982 I dubbed my friends mix tape of hip hop and break dancing music with Grandmaster Flash and Soulsonic Force What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? A Tribe Called Quest, The Low End Theory Beastie Boys, Licensed to Ill Muddy Waters, Electric Mud License to Ill made me go out and buy a sampler(that held 90 seconds on 2 floppy discs) and Low end Theory showcased how sample based music could be done right. Before them Muddy Waters and the blues gave birth to all popular music. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Lofi Christmas Every Day” I flipped the Lofi Christmas sample from a 1955 album and it was very nostalgic for me on a deep level. It made me remember why I got into making music in the first place. Take a sound, flip it and mold it into a new composition that bumps!
