Developing his craft across the globe, electronic producer and songwriter Dillistone blends warm synth wave with hip-hop beats and yearning vocals in a style reminiscent of acts such as Lauv, gnash, and the introspective, pop-friendly side of the Chainsmokers. Emerging in the mid-2010s, he issued his official debut effort in 2016 with the Furnace EP.
Born Morten Aamodt in Copenhagen, he spent his formative years in Shanghai, attending international schools with other expat transplants. He started DJ'ing, performing at underground club shows around the city. When it was time for college, he returned to Europe, enrolling at Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts to study acting. From there, he made a new base in London, where he began recording his own music. Early offerings were uploaded online, including 2015's "Sad & High" and "Diamond Child" with Aayushi. In 2016, he issued his official debut effort, Furnace, a deep, electronic, beat-driven set that featured Italian vocalist and frequent collaborator Lili N. Subsequent singles smoothed out the hard-hitting club flavor of his tracks, adding pop hooks and a future bass vibe to singles such as 2017's "Forget About Me" and 2018's "You Got Me" and "I Wish You Were Here." ~ Neil Z.
