Dendrons

Taking the jagged guitar figures and fractured rhythms of post-punk and adding the clever melodicism of indie pop, Dendrons make music that's bracing in its impact and accessible in its danceability and hook-laden tunefulness. Based in Chicago, Dendrons' carefully constructed rumble first found an audience with the release of their 2020 self-titled debut album, a set of compact songs built around guitars that could chime or bark at will. For 2022's 5-3-8, the group had expanded from four to six members, and the more detailed arrangements made use of their expanded instrumental palette and more confident songwriting.
