In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. In the early 2000s, I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with Chick Corea in Ann Arbor after his show. He was incredibly kind and humble—I felt like a kid in a candy store! His Elektric Band had a huge influence on my style. Doobie Powell)” This is one of my favorite songs by Stevie Wonder! I've always admired Doobie Powell and had hoped to work with him. Although we hadn’t met in person, I decided to reach out to him on Facebook—and the rest, as they say, is history! What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The most memorable moments of my career were crossing the stage in 2011 and 2013 to receive my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music from the University of Michigan. It was a major accomplishment that I will cherish for a lifetime.
