About David Lanz

David Lanz, one of the most popular artists in the solo instrumental and new age genres, began his career in rock bands during his teens before developing his solo piano style. His original compositions received positive feedback, leading him to focus on his own material. Lanz's early solo piano albums became best-sellers for the Narada label. His collaborations with guitarist Paul Speer also charted highly. As his popularity grew, Lanz experimented with larger ensembles, culminating in the orchestral album Skyline Firedance (1990). He returned to solo piano with Return to the Heart (1991) and made his vocal debut on Bridge of Dreams (1993). Lanz continued to release music throughout the decade, including 1993's Bridge of Dreams with Speer and 1996's Convergence with David Arkenstone. In the 21st century, he recorded prolifically, including many original albums, tributes, the live album Liverpool Trio: Live in Seoul, and several compilations.
