David Grimal

Versatile violinist David Grimal has a repertory stretching from early music to newly commissioned works, including chamber music as well as solo pieces. He is also a significant educator, and he has presented concerts for the homeless population in Paris. Grimal released his debut album in 2004, joining pianist Valery Afanassiev in a program of Schubert sonatinas. Grimal has appeared as a soloist with many of the world's leading orchestras both in France and abroad. He has made more than 15 recordings as a soloist, including two traversals of Bach's unaccompanied sonatas and partitas for solo violin; the second of these appeared on La Dolce Volta in 2023.
