About Danny Oertli

Danny Oertli began playing guitar during the summer between his last year in junior high and his freshman year in high school. Purchasing a $12 Sears guitar and amplifier with the help of his father, Oertli became more interested in acoustic-oriented music. In his college years at Colorado Statue University, he began writing songs and composing his own material. In 1992, Oertli released his debut effort, Where We Stand, a nine-song effort that established himself in Christian music circles and which also started his ministry in Christian music. In 1994, his first full-length album, Stories, was released. This was followed by Song From The Left Side Of The Couch a year later. Influenced by musicians like Rich Mullins, Oertli performed across the United States and Europe as part of touring ministries. In 1999, he released Hymns And Prayers. He also contributed a song My Last Breath to a compilation resulting from the Columbine shooting tragedy. In 2002, Oertli released two albums. Rewind was a compilation of older songs while Nothing Left To Prove was new material. But tragedy struck the Oertli family in February 2002 when his wife Cyndi passed away from cancer. Oertli runs his own ministries and continues to tour across North America and around the world. ~ Jason MacNeil
