About Daniele Rosina

A significant figure in the musical life of the English Midlands, conductor Daniele Rosina has championed contemporary composers. He became interested in conducting after watching Zubin Mehta lead a concert on Italian television. Rosina led student ensembles while at the Birmingham Conservatoire, giving performances not only on campus but at the Bromsgrove Festival and Birmingham's Symphony Hall. He worked for a time as an assistant conductor at the San Francisco Ballet, touring with the group in both the U.S. and Britain. In 2005, Rosina became a conducting tutor at the Conservatoire and then took the same position at the University of Birmingham the following year. He has remained active with both institutions, teaching and conducting ensembles at both. Rosina also is a frequent guest conductor of the Orchestra of the Swan, with which he recorded the album Labyrinths in 2021.
