About Daniel O'Donnell

Taking inspiration from classic sentimental pop crooners like Andy Williams, Roger Whittaker, John McCormack, and Bing Crosby, along with influences from American country singers Jim Reeves and Eddy Arnold, plus aspects of his Irish heritage, Daniel O’Donnell is one of the most popular vocalists in the British Isles. Like Barry Manilow, O’Donnell is a fine pop craftsman appealing to primarily conservative listeners who enjoy a good, unabashedly sentimental tune that is sung smoothly with an Emerald Isle lilt. He focuses on broad-reaching vocal and country material, and in 2019 became the first artist to have at least one different charting album annually in the U.K. for 32 consecutive years.
