About Dalton Rapattoni

Singer/songwriter Dalton Rapattoni is an emotive, pop-oriented performer who first came to the public's attention as the third-place finisher on the 15th season of American Idol. Born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1996, Rapattoni grew up in the Dallas, Texas area, where he first started playing guitar around age 11. Benefiting from his involvement in his local after-school School of Rock program, he developed quickly as a musician and by his teens had formed the emo-pop-influenced band Fly Away Hero. At 14, Rapattoni joined the boy band IM5 and relocated to Los Angeles. However, he ultimately parted ways with the group and returned to Texas, where he worked as a vocal coach at the School of Rock. In 2015, he successfully auditioned for the 15th season of American Idol with his rendition of Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Phantom of the Opera." A fan favorite, he finished in third place behind La'Porsha Renae and Trent Harmon. After leaving Idol, he released the post-show single "Strike a Match" and moved to Austin, Texas to pursue his solo career. In 2017, Rapattoni delivered his full-length debut album, Nobodys Home, featuring the single "Heaven." ~ Matt Collar
