LA rapper D Savage went from SoundCloud sensation to major label signee on the strength of his early viral hits. • Growing up, D Savage listened to everyone from Chicago rapper Chief Keef to indie rockers MGMT. He claims he can play Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” on piano. • The stage name D Savage is an homage to rapper 21 Savage. • D Savage has known Tyler, The Creator since his early teens. He even lived at the Odd Future member’s house for a spell. • In 2016, using the name D Savage 3900, the rapper posted the melodic yet menacing “30 Round Clip” on SoundCloud. It was his first-ever song, and it quickly racked up millions of streams. • Following his independent breakthrough, D Savage signed with Victor Victor Worldwide/Capitol Records. • Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Yachty, and Yung Bans guested on D Savage’s 2018 mixtape D Phoenix. • D Savage returned in 2019 with the mostly feature-free album Trust No One.
