About Crissi Cochrane

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My dad tried to teach me and my mom how to play guitar when I was 4 years old, in the basement of my childhood home in Nova Scotia. I ended up sobbing in frustration and storming out of the room, but I picked it up again at age 8 and never stopped. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Billie Holiday, Solitude: The Legendary Billie Holiday Diana Panton, I Believe In Little Things João Gilberto, Stan Getz, Getz/Gilberto Getz/Gilberto - this album sparked my great love of jazz and bossa nova. "I Believe In Little Things" by Diana Panton - the most relaxing music for children (which I have!) "Solitude" by Billie Holiday - she's a legend. Need I say more? What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing a sold-out show celebrating my album HEIRLOOM, with an 11-piece backing band. The energy of the band, plus the power of the horn section and back-up singers was so moving, I had to try not to cry with joy the entire time. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I'd love to do some "tourcations" - combining my desire to travel with my love of performing. I'd like to visit and perform in Italy, Spain, France, Hawaii, Colombia, and Brazil. I have small children though, so this might not happen too soon yet!
