About Crime and the City Solution

Formed in Australia in the late 1970s, Crime & the City Solutions consisted of a rotating cast and crew of some of the more well-known names of the Australian rock underground of the era. Singer Simon Bonney was the band's one constant, but at different times C&SC featured, among others, the Birthday Party's Roland S. Howard, Bad Seed Mick Harvey, and Epic Soundtracks of the Brit post-punk act the Swell Maps. The band's music was rugged, dark, and more than a touch theatrical, not unlike the music of their more celebrated colleague Nick Cave. Crime & the City Solution officially disbanded following the release of their 1990 album PARADISE DISCOTHEQUE, though a live album did appear in 1993.
