Copenhagen Saxophone Quartet

About Copenhagen Saxophone Quartet

Four highly trained saxophone players came together in the spring of 1997 to form the Copenhagen Saxophone Quartet. The group, which features Charlotte Andersson on baritone sax, Maret Petersen on alto sax, Torben Snekkestad on soprano sax, and Torben Enghoff on tenor sax, continues to thrill listeners with its texturally rich mixture of French quartet music and new Danish music composed for saxophone quartets. The senior member, Enghoff (born in 1947) has been professionally playing music since 1967. The founder of the chamber ensemble Ny Dansk Saxofonkvartet in 1986, Enghoff has performed with the Radiosymfoniorkestret, Sjaellands Symfoniorkester, New York City Ballet, and Den Jyske Opera. ~ Craig Harris
