Guy Clark, Old No. 1 Los Tigres del Norte, Los Tigres del Norte At Folsom Prison (Original Soundtrack/Live) Townes Van Zandt, Townes Van Zandt Guy Clark's "Old No. 1" — every line's earned truth. Townes Van Zandt's self-titled — taught me less is more. And honestly? Anything by Los Tigres del Norte. Learned more Spanish philosophy from them than any book. Twenty-two years of Saturday mornings with a man who teaches by showing up. He's turning 80-something this year. This song's his birthday gift. Some friendships are uncluttered — just tools, trucks, and time. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Career? I'm still figuring out if this counts as one. But recording "Lessons on the Beach" — that fisherman taught me I'd been running from what I was working toward. Changed how I now see much of life. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Write a song my grandkids' kids will sing around fires. Something simple that sticks. And maybe get Dan to admit one of my repairs didn't need fixing. That second one's probably harder than the first.
