In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical memories revolve around my family. As a young child, I remember singing with my mother, and switching places with my brother on the drums as we accompanied our father while he played the bass. Our jams were my training ground. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Herbie Hancock, Thrust Miles Davis, Amandla Yellowjackets, Four Corners Regarding Amandla, I’ve always been inspired by the forward thinking of Miles Davis and the harmonic choices of Marcus Miller. Four Corners is one of those Yellowjackets albums that shaped me musically. Herbie Hancock… need I say more? Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Looking Back At Me (feat. Shaylah J. Stevens, Aaron Hardin, Marcus Myers & Nicholas a. Salcido)” This song is special for a few reasons. First, it features my wife, Shaylah. Also, it’s a cue for the first feature film that I scored by myself. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing with The Roots and Earth Wind & Fire for 4th of July in Philly is definitely a career highlight! I’ll never forget meeting them for the first time and then performing together on live television! Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Headlining my own world tour is a major bucket list item. I’ve been blessed to see much of the world, but I look forward to sharing my original music with everyone.
