About Christine McVie

Having begun her musical career playing bass in the Birmingham-based Shades of Blue, Christine Perfect joined Stan Webb in Chicken Shack, and her impassioned reading of Etta James' classic "I'd Rather Go Blind" became the band's most successful release. After marrying John McVie, bass player in Fleetwood Mac, she instigated the Christine Perfect Band, making her low-key solo recording debut with Christine Perfect, before joining her husband in Fleetwood Mac in August 1970. Her skills as a pianist, vocalist, and composer were vital during the band’s turbulent years, notably her stellar contributions to the phenomenally successful Rumours. She chose to concentrate most of her energies on the band, but found time to release the solo efforts Christine McVie (1984) and In the Meantime (2004). ~ Rovi Staff
