In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember seeing my dad turn our garage into a full on recording studio. He'd record songs that he wrote with my mom–she's an amazing gospel singer. And there was always a lively rotating cast of musicians and performers coming through all the time. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Kendrick Lamar, To Pimp a Butterfly Tame Impala, Lonerism Although they're on such opposite poles, there's a complexity to both of these albums that's unmatched. The concepts, the sonic structures, the songwriting, and production echo everything that I aim for in my own music. Desert island picks for sure. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The most memorable moment of my career is right now–the beginning. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I want to see what it's like to have an audience sing one of my songs back to me...I think that would be mind blowing.
