About Chocolate Starfish

Led by singer Adam Thompson, Chocolate Starfish are a five-piece hard rock group formed in Melbourne, Australia, in the early 90s. The group has earned an impressive domestic reputation and, increasingly, an international name for their dynamic, theatrical live shows - an obvious critical comparison being Queen. Reportedly having played over 450 times in one 18-month period, the group entered the studio to record their self-titled debut for Virgin Records in 1994. This became a huge success, with the group’s boisterous songwriting winning over a huge proportion of the Australian record-buying public and earning platinum status in the process. The follow-up collection was promoted with the release of ‘Accidentally Cool’, a single that became something of a signature tune. By entering the ARIA charts at number 4, it ensured Box a healthy reception. The album was released in Europe in 1997, at which time the group spent six months based in Paris.
