About Chad McCloskey

Singer Chad McCloskey has a warm, baritone voice that he applies to traditional pop and jazz standards. He initially came to the public's attention as a member of the Christian vocal group the Ball Brothers, before releasing his debut solo album, Smilin', in 2019. Born in 1989 in Madison, Wisconsin, McCloskey grew up in Northern Michigan where he started singing with his family around age three. Encouraged by his father, who was the musical director at the family's church, McCloskey continued to develop his vocal chops throughout high school and college. In 2006, he began performing regularly as part of his family's evangelism work. McCloskey gained wider attention in 2012 after joining the sibling vocal ensemble the Ball Brothers, with whom he has recorded several albums, including 2014's Pursuit and 2016's Dynamic. Citing influences like Michael Bublé and Frank Sinatra, McCloskey made his solo debut in 2019 with the jazz standards album Smilin'. ~ Matt Collar
