Catharsis

About Catharsis

Not to be confused with the similarly named French art rockers from the 1970s, the American act known as Catharsis emerged a whole two decades later and played a very technical, progressive style of heavy metal. The band was also short-lived, but even though vocalist/guitarist Scott Fox, bassist Pete Cleary, and drummer Mike Nielson (later of power metal band Cage) released only one album in 1995's Pathways to Wholeness, this is now regarded as something of a lost classic within the progressive metal genre. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
