While his work fronting the Danish act Efterklang resulted in over two decades of material ranging from glitchy folktronica to orchestral, Baroque-inspired music, Casper Clausen's effervescent, electronic solo output began to incorporate a freer, flowing tone. His 2021 debut solo album, Better Way, mixed by Spacemen 3's Sonic Boom, is a good example of this. It appeared after two mid-2010s groove-based albums: the first as part of Liima with his Efterklang compatriots and Finnish percussionist Tatu Rönkkö, and the second with cellist Gaspar Claus for a mournful, drone-like session released in 2016 and titled Claus & Clausen.
