In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My mother playing the album "Everything Must Go" by Steely Dan while she cleaned the house. I was about four years old. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Joni Mitchell, Court and Spark Margaret Glaspy, Devotion Stevie Wonder, Songs in the Key of Life Songs In The Key of Life- I grew up listening to this. These songs are timeless. Court and Spark- I discovered in my teenage years and it was extremely formative for me as a budding songwriter. Tell us why you chose this song. “8 Walk Hill” I wrote this banjo song about living in a transient space (such as a college apartment.) I could hear strained voices and crying through my bedroom walls. I realized that my neighbors next door were breaking up.
