In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. We grew up outside of Philly playing whiffle ball and listening to Pink Floyd & The Who. We made mix tapes recording just the best parts of each song. 5 sec snippets filling up dozens of 90 min tapes. They were all stolen from our car in NYC. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Grateful Dead, Reckoning Live Nanci Griffith, One Fair Summer Evening (Live) Live The Band, Music From Big Pink (Remastered 2000) Probably Reckoning and Big Pink got us to write songs in the first place. Listening to Dylan, Neil Young, Nanci Griffith, James Taylor, Gillian Welch.. even newer artists like Watchouse and Joan Shelley continues to inspire new ideas. It was January -4 degrees. The snow on the fields was beautiful. Yet we dreamed of summer when the town would come alive. Friends would gather. Independence would fill the air. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? We don't dwell on the big moments. It's the small ones that stay with us. Writing and recording our newest record On the Creek (2023) on a quiet bend of Taughannock Creek outside of Ithaca, NY. That's a moment in time that we will cherish. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? We dream small. Most bucket list items have been achieved. I guess the one remaining would be Bob Dylan or Neil Young or Joni Mitchell dropping us a note saying they heard our song, loved it and wish they had written it themselves.
