In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. The first CD I bought with my own money was Seussical the Musical. It was for my dance recital, and I fell in love with the whimsical and energetic melodies connected to stories I already adored. It's still one of my comfort albums. Tell us why you chose this song. “Shoes” Shoes is a cry-to pop song about the frustration of youth, the heartbreak of your own choices, and the grace of forgiveness. It’s the most personal song I’ve ever written, and it exists because over 200 help fund my debut studio EP.
