About Bruce Johnson

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I was 12 years old and shared a bedroom with my brother. I remember him saving to buy a stereo. My life forever changed the moment he put his big headphones on me and played The Beatles for me. I remember the music filling my entire body. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Imelda May, Love Tattoo Kenny Loggins, Outside: From the Redwoods (Live) Raul Midón, State of Mind Raul Midon - all that amazing sound coming from just one guy and his guitar! He hears music on a different plane. Kenny Loggins - Awesome vocals reimagining his music. Imelda May - her grooves and sexy voice "Gonna make ya wanna, make ya wanna, ow!" Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Millworker” My ancestors sailed from Scotland and helped settle Pictou, Nova Scotia 250 years ago. They were from the Grant clan and had mills on Grant Lake. Producing this song with a traditional Scottish feel and a water soundscape made this very personal. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I wanted to create a unique sound for this album. So being able to take songs that I have loved for years and ask these A-list musicians I recorded with to play them in my reimagined way and hearing their creativity come to life was a dream. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? There is always more to do! Artists have to keep creating, it's in our nature. A bucket list dream would be a songwriter hearing this music and being inspired to collaborate with me to record their original songs.
