Boy With a Fish

Boy with a Fish specialize in a moody blend of folk-rock and Americana that conjures up images of collapsed barns along the highways of the rural north. Based in Ithaca, New York, the group consists of Jeff Claus (guitars and vocals), Judy Hyman (electric violin, viola, and vocal), Rick Hansen (accordion and keyboards), Jay Olsa (bass), and Ryan Cady (drums). Claus and Hyman are founding members of the eccentric bluegrass/alternative rock group the Horse Flies, Olsa and Hansen play in Plastic Nebraska, and Cady divides his time by performing with fellow Ithaca natives Hubcap. Boy with a Fish's debut, Birds Fly Backwards, was released in April 2004 on Left Ear Records, followed by I Put My Tongue on the Window in 2011. ~ James Christopher Monger
