Billy C Farlow

About Billy C Farlow

Billy C. Farlow grew up in Alabama, Indiana, and Texas, relocating to Detroit, Michigan with his family in the early '60s. By this time he was already a proficient guitarist and harmonica player and sat in John Lee Hooker, Sippie Wallace, and Big Joe Williams at Detroit-area venues. He formed Billy C & the Sunshine in 1966 and eventually joined Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen. Farlow formed his own outfit in the '70s and returned to the South in the '80s. He released five albums over a dozen years for a variety of labels. In the early '90s, he reunited with drummer Sam Lay for a trio of albums and continued to record and tour regularly. ~ Steve Leggett
