In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was in 8th grade, I sang "Open Arms" by Journey at a school assembly. After the response I received, I knew without a doubt that singing and performing was all I wanted to do. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? King's X, Gretchen Goes to Nebraska Prince & The Revolution, Purple Rain Soundtrack from the Motion Picture Stevie Wonder, Songs in the Key of Life The three albums (and Tears for Fears' "Songs From The Big Chair"!) literally changed my life. They shaped me as a musician and as a human being. To this day, when I need to be inspired, I put on one of these albums. Tell us why you chose this song. “Sam & Otis” This song, Sam & Otis, is on my album, "Fact Fiction and Other Contradictions". I chose it because I feel like when I wrote it, I found my musical voice. A unique mixture of soul, rock, and pop. I had finally found a sound that was purely my own.
