About Bailey Bryan

A singer and songwriter whose music is informed by country, pop, and hip-hop influences, Bailey Bryan was born in Sequim, Washington, in 1998. She developed an interest in music at a young age and started performing in church when she was seven. Bryan was spotted by Becki Devries, who worked in music publishing, and she kept tabs on the youngster, eventually becoming her mentor. Bryan started writing songs when she was 12 years old. At 15, she took part in a songwriting workshop held by Devries, who was impressed with the teen's skills as a writer and as a vocalist. Before long, Bryan began regularly posting videos online of herself performing both original material and covers of popular hits, and her upbeat style often crossed genre boundaries as she interpreted both pop and country favorites. As a performer, Bryan also developed an eclectic audience as she shared stages with artists ranging from Sara Evans to Macklemore. By the time she was 18, Bryan had left home and moved to Nashville, where she landed a publishing contract with Warner Music Nashville. She signed a recording deal with 300 Entertainment and released her debut single, "Own It," in September 2016. "Own It" anchored Bryan's debut EP, So Far, which appeared in April 2017. The "Songbird" single arrived in 2018, followed by "Perspective" in 2019. ~ Mark Deming
