Aztec Camera is the brainchild of the Glaswegian singer-songwriter Roddy Frame. With its literate, sensitive and impeccably crafted compositions, the group's 1983 debut, HIGH LAND, HARD RAIN, was a hit in the UK and on US college radio. Over the next few records, Frame expanded his musical palette to include torch ballads and soul- and R&B-inspired compositions. By the 1990s, Frame was a solo act in all but name, returning, to the delight of his stalwart fans, to the low-key, poetic stylings of the early days.
