Arise and Ruin

About Arise and Ruin

Comprised of members Ryan Bauchman (vocals), Brent Munger (guitar), Greg Richmond (guitar), Ben Alexis (bass), and Derek Prince-Cox (drums), the Canadian metalcore outfit Arise and Ruin formed in Guelph, Ontario, in June 2005. The band took equal inspiration from American metal and European thrash, and its aggressive sounds soon caught the ear of Stereo Dynamite Recordings in nearby Toronto. The label signed Arise and Ruin and issued their debut EP, The Fear Of, in April 2006. Positive reviews continued to spread the band's name and soon attracted interest from the U.S.-based Victory Records. Arise and Ruin joined the Victory roster in June 2007 and headed into the studio with Ken Susi, who had also produced their debut EP. The Final Dawn, Arise and Ruin's first full-length album, was completed by September 2007, and the band fittingly chose to release it on Devil's Night -- October 30th. ~ Andrew Leahey
