Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One day after school I refused to practice piano, threw my sweatshirt and broke a family heirloom. When my mom saw what happened she said, "I never want to hear you play the piano again." It was an epiphany, because I've played piano every day since.

Artur Schnabel, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Malcolm Sargent, Arthur Schnabel - Ludwig van Beethoven - Piano Concertos No. 3 & No. 4 Rent, Rent (1996 Original Broadway Cast) [Cast Recording] The Beatles, Abbey Road (Remastered) People label me an "American Musical Theatre Composer and Lyricist", which seems fair, but I think that just means I like working with a melting pot of different music genres, traditions and styles.

Tell us why you chose this song. “My Someday Comes Today” My mother passed away in 2013, but I still think about her all the time. She always encouraged me and would often say that "my someday will come". I guess at some point I added "if only in my mind", it seems apropos at this point in my career.
