About Anner Bylsma

Anner Bylsma (aka Anner Bijlsma) is a prize-winning Dutch cellist who has released numerous solo and chamber works in association with Sony Classical's VIVARTE label. Born Anner Bijlsma on February 17, 1934, in the Hague, the Netherlands, he is a founding member of the ensemble L'Archibudelli and has performed as a member of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Tafelmusik, the Australian Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, the Freiburger Barock, and Rondom. His recordings on VIVARTE include Bach: The Six Unaccompanied Cello Suites (1993), Haydn: The Last 4 Piano Trios (1993), Schubert: Piano Trios D.898 & 929 (1996), Vivaldi Concerti (1997), Schubert: Trout Quintet; Arpeggione Sonata; Notturno (1998), The Cello and the King of Prussia (1998), Beethoven: The Complete Sonatas for Pianoforte and Violoncello (1999), Vivaldi: Cello Sonatas (2000), and Bach: Cello Suites Nos. 1, 2 & 3 (2002). ~ Jason Birchmeier
