About Andrew Scott Bell
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember listening to Vivaldi's Four Seasons when I was very young. It's some of my first musical memories. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Alan Silvestri, Forrest Gump (Original Motion Picture Score) Bernard Herrmann, Joel McNeely, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Psycho (The Complete Original Motion Picture Score) The Complete Original Motion Picture Score John Williams, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (The 20th Anniversary) These three albums have been, by far, the most influential soundtracks to developing my musical sensibilities when scoring films. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Psycho Storm Credits” Psycho Storm Chaser was such a fun movie to score and this suite of musical themes, which plays during the end credits of the film, was the very first piece of music I wrote for the film. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Rocket, one of the first films I scored after moving to Los Angeles, won a Student Academy Award in 2016. Years later I scored my first primetime show, Home Sweet Home by Ava DuVernay, for NBC. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I mostly just feel blessed that I'm fortunate enough to do this for a living. I have some personal bucket list items, but it's been the little ones I didn't expect that surprise and delight me the most.
