About Amanda Ghost

Female singer/songwriter Amanda Ghost is no Britney Spears. In fact, she's in a league of her own when delivering her brassy, ambient club sound. Already a pop star in her native England, Amanda Ghost is of Spanish and Indian decent and cites the musical likes of Nat King Cole, Nina Simone, the Doors, Depeche Mode, and Prince as influencing her career. While studying at the London College of Fashion, Ghost also found her hand in hardcore punk, techno beats, and classic folk rhythms prior to her first performance in North London's club circuit. She undoubtedly began to shape her ambitions from this point on, collaborating and writing material with EMF's Ian Dench and Mount Rushmore's Lucas Barton. A strong musical family enveloped and caught the praises of Boy George, Elton John, and Prodigy's Liam Howlett. Warner Brothers signed Amanda Ghost and the end result was Ghost Stories, Amanda Ghost's electrifying debut of sheer, brash electronic rock, released in September 2000. ~ MacKenzie Wilson
