Altar of Oblivion

About Altar of Oblivion

Denmark's Altar of Oblivion bow down at the operatic doom style established by Sweden's Candlemass and, to a lesser degree, Texas' Solitude Aeturnus. After forming in 2005, the group delivered a well-received demo entitled The Shadow Era two years later, and followed with their debut album, Sinews of Anguish, in 2009, at which point they consisted of vocalist Mik Mentor, guitarist/keyboardist Martin Mendelssohn, lead guitarist Allan B. Larsen, bassist C. Nörgaard, and drummer Lars Ström. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
