Canadian-born singer Allie X cultivates an air of mystery around the catchy, colorful dance-pop songs she began releasing in 2014.

• She was active in Toronto as Allie Hughes starting around 2006, self-releasing a handful of albums and participating in the Canadian reality competition How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? before moving to Los Angeles in 2013 and adopting the Allie X persona.
• Her debut single as Allie X, “Catch,” came out in early 2014 and drew positive reviews. The song later appeared on her first EP, 2015’s CollXtion I, which she intended to be the first of five “CollXtions.” So far, she has released two subsequent projects that include that term.
• Allie X’s 2020 album Cape Cod features frequent collaborator Troye Sivan and indie rocker Mitski.
• In addition to her own music, Allie X has written songs for acts like Troye Sivan, Lea Michele, The Vamps, and the K-pop juggernaut BTS.
