Allen Ginsberg

About Allen Ginsberg

Allen Ginsberg was one of the founders of the literary "beat" movement of the 1950s. Along with kindred spirits Jack Kerouac, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, and others, he freed literature from the shackles of linear narrative and conservative morality. His poetry spilled over into the music world as well, and he recorded with some of the same rock musicians he'd influenced with his groundbreaking poetry.
