About Alice DJ

The Dutch Eurodance group Alice Deejay (now known as Alice DJ) came out of the gates strong with their 1998 global smash “Better Off Alone.”

• Alice Deejay was founded by producers Wessel van Diepen, Dennis van den Driesschen, Sebastiaan Molijn, and Eelke Kalberg, with Judith Pronk on lead vocals.
• The group struck gold with its 1998’s debut single, “Better Off Alone.” With its bright and bouncy synth melody and coy, repetitive vocals, “Better Off Alone” charted across Europe, reaching No. 2 in the UK. The single was a Top 40 hit in the US.
• Alice DJ dropped their first and only album, Who Needs Guitars Anyway?, in 2000. It debuted in the Top 10 in the UK and spawned four more hits in that country.
• Pronk retired from music in 2002, prompting the group’s disbandment. They returned as Alice DJ in 2014 with new singer Ilona van Gelder for live performances.
