Alexis Ffrench

Alexis Ffrench became the organist at his local church at age seven.

∙ He cites Stevie Wonder and Bob Marley as childhood influences, along with such traditional classical composers as Mozart and Beethoven.
∙ At age 10, he won a scholarship for gifted children to the Royal Academy of Music, from which he later graduated.
∙ In 1992, he made his concerto debut, performing Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall.
∙ His Dreamland LP topped the UK Classical Artist Albums Chart in 2020.
∙ Ffrench mentors young artists across all genres, aiming to make classical music relevant to younger and urban audiences.
