About Alex Tuck

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Eating breakfast, aged 4, listening to 'Torn' by Natalie Imbruglia on the radio as the sun crept into our childhood home in Canterbury. Every time I hear it, I can taste toast and strawberry jam. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? American Football, American Football (Deluxe Edition) And So I Watch You From Afar, And So I Watch You From Afar Glassjaw, Worship and Tribute Each of these albums came to me at an important time in my life: I was 15/16 and full of hormones. I fell in love with these on the long bus ride to school from my rural village, and travelling across the county to run athletics every other weekend. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “The Day I Get Out of Here” This is the first song I ever wrote under my own name and, despite the raw production, stays close to my heart. It's about getting ready to leave for university and coming to terms with moving on without a comfortable ending to a relationship. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? My first airplay on Radio 1. I remember it well, as I was on a date at the time! I couldn't bring myself to play her the song, it was a first date and the lyrics were incredibly depressing. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I adore the thought of playing 2000 Trees Festival, I'm a veteran of 9 years and that festival treats every artist like royalty. Playing any stage at that festival would top Radio 1 in a heartbeat.
