About Alex OH
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember playing E.T. and Superman on the piano at age four. I didn’t know what film scoring was, but I felt the power in those melodies — joy, sadness, wonder. That was when I first realized music could move people. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? John Williams, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial (Music From the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) John Williams, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) John Williams, London Symphony Orchestra, Superman: The Movie (Soundtrack from the Motion Picture) [Deluxe] John Williams’ scores made me feel larger than life. E.T. felt delicate and full of wonder, Superman made me believe I could fly, and Star Wars gave me that edge. They showed me music could tell stories — without words. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Playgrounds” “Playgrounds” is personal to me. I wrote it while reflecting on childhood places that no longer exist. I wanted the melody to feel like a farewell — bittersweet, nostalgic, and full of unspoken memory. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Scoring Bait and recording with a full orchestra in Sydney was unforgettable. Hearing my music performed live reminded me why I started composing — to tell big stories through small, emotional moments. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I want to release music that reflects who I am beyond film — honest, emotional, and deeply personal. And yes, one day, I still dream of recording a score with a 100-piece orchestra.
