About Alan Fitzpatrick

Alan Fitzpatrick makes big-room techno with an unmistakably human touch. Born in Southampton, England, in 1982, Fitzpatrick got his start in the late 2000s on labels like Figure, Bedrock, and Adam Beyer’s Drumcode, turning out tracks that combined peak-time energy with heads-down focus. Over the years, he’s retained both his sense of scale—no one sculpts kicks more massive than his—and his immersive sensibility, with rolling basslines and dubby atmospheres that feel like a warm embrace. Despite his mastery of his chosen form, Fitzpatrick has never limited himself to one style: His 2016 Fabric 87 mix tugged monumental techno into atmospheric dimensions, and on his 2021 album Machine Therapy, he experimented with IDM, breakbeat house, melodic techno, and even drum 'n' bass, pulling all those disparate sounds into orbit around an unfailingly dramatic center of gravity.
