About Agoria

Agoria melts emotions and genres in a complex blend of body-moving electronic music and moody pop songwriting. Born Sébastien Devaud in 1976 in Valencin, France, he heard Inner City’s house classic “Good Life” on the radio at 12 years old and never looked back. His first singles arrived in 1999, but it was with his 2003 debut album, Blossom, that Agoria first made his mark, balancing the era’s lean house and techno with an insouciant melodic spark. There was little else like it at the time. He moved into more aggressive French electro with 2006’s The Green Armchair, then feinted left on 2008’s Go Fast soundtrack, balancing ambient abstractions with driving club grooves. In 2011, Impermanence marked a new emotional peak, thanks to its full-spectrum deep house and melancholy vocal features from Kid A and others. In the years since, he has increasingly focused on translating those widescreen feelings to multidimensional productions that transcend club listening.
