About Loco Escrito

Loco Escrito is the stage name of Nicolas Herzig, a Swiss-Colombian musician whose work ranges from tough Spanish-language hip-hop to smooth, romantic reggaeton-pop. A co-founder of Swiss rap crew LDDC who achieved chart success during the early 2010s, Loco Escrito began releasing solo singles in 2013, with debut full-length Mi Vida Es Mía appearing in 2014. His 2017 single "Sin Ti" became a hit in several Latin American and European countries. Herzig was born in Medellín, Colombia in 1990, and grew up in Zurich, where he attended primary school. He co-founded Swiss-Latino rap crew LDDC (Los Diablos del Cielo) in 2004, contributing Spanish vocals along with English vocalist Third Eye and DJ G-RaZ. The group achieved their biggest success with 2010's RimaSSafaR, which reached the Top 50 of the Swiss albums chart. After LDDC disbanded in 2012, Loco Escrito set out on his own, releasing the rap EP Mi Vida and the more pop-oriented single "Mujer Fantasía" in 2013. He showcased his varying styles on his full-length debut, Mi Vida Es Mía, which arrived in 2014. Following a few additional singles, reggaeton-leaning EP La Conquista appeared in 2016, as well as the trap-influenced De Maravilla. The latter included the romantic Latin pop single "Sin Ti," which became his biggest hit to date in 2017. Continuing with the song's summery, feel-good vibe, he released "Adiós" in 2018. ~ Paul Simpson
