In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. The band was spiritually formed when Nielsen heard Johnson sing at an open mic in Jacksonville. After her set, he basically harangued her into starting a band around her music. Poland was picked up shortly after, and joyfully making music ever since. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Radiohead, OK Computer TOOL, Ænima Weezer, Pinkerton Each member of our band contributed our very favorite records and after seeing Radiohead, Tool, and Weezer all right next to each other our sound makes a lot more sense. Tell us why you chose this song. “Anchor” This song is not only written from a very personal place, but was one of the early songs that galvanized the band and gave 1blackfrend a nucleus. Randi wrote this song at a point of desperation, and it provided her with a better, healthier outlet.
