About Justine Clarke

Dr. Seuss believed a good children's book is also a good grown-up's book, and Justine Clarke feels the same about songs. Born in Sydney in 1971, Clarke made a youthful splash as the feral Anna Goanna in the 1985 film Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. In 1999, she began a decades-long run as a presenter on Play School, the world's second-longest-running kids’ show, where she met many of the songwriters with whom she'd collaborate on award-winning albums that broadened children's musical horizons into country, rock, and swing. Clarke’s platinum-selling 2005 debut, I Like to Sing, introduced Australian tykes to her captivating combination of whimsy and preschool-appropriate learning. The album accompaniment to The Justine Clarke Show!, which debuted in 2017, offers such brain-twisters as: “An orange is really orange and the fly can really fly/But a banana is a banana/That’s what it’s called, I don’t know why.”
