About 070 Shake

Blending emotive vocals with misty soundscapes, 070 Shake is one of the most distinctive talents in hip-hop. Born Danielle Balbuena in 1997, the North Bergen, NJ, artist soaked up the sounds of Michael Jackson, My Chemical Romance, Lauryn Hill, and others long before she recorded her first songs. Her artistic emergence began with the 2015 release of "Swervin" and "Proud," tracks that showcased her penchant for delivering sing-song raps over atmospheric production. As part of the 070 collective, she continued her development with the release of 2018's Glitter, an exhibition of tonal flexibility and playful, self-aware lyricism. Having been signed to Kanye West's GOOD Music, she earned more attention than ever after appearing on the rapper's "Ghost Town," off his ye album. She continued to level up with 2020's Modus Vivendi and 2022's You Can't Kill Me, astral collections of emotive melodies, spacy production, and Shake's rarefied mystique.
