Bolstered by ace jazz organist Joey DeFrancesco, Van Morrison spends part of his second jazz album in a row bringing a new shine to tunes from all across his career, like a jumping soul-jazz version of "Have I Told You Lately?" and a freewheeling, bop-infused update of "The Way Young Lovers Do." But Van proves equally adept at standards—when he burns through a broad range of emotions, growling and gliding across the Cole Porter-penned "Miss Otis Regrets," for instance, it's immediately apparent how much vocal genius is under his hood.
